Diseases are often the cause of poverty, discrimination and exclusion. In treating our patients, we learn that war and violence, migration, social injustice, climate change and unstable health systems make people ill. We believe that health is more than medicine. We do not always reach populations in need directly. We often consult, advise, support and accompany partners – individuals, organisations, churches, hospitals, institutions – who themselves are on the side of the sick and  needy. The spectrum ranges from laboratory advice to the support of diocesan health services. Catholic relief organisations that we feel closely connected to are of particular importance.
